  • Recreation at its finest Recreation with just a hint of competition For the love of cricket from the golden era

History

BVCI stands for one prime goal: that age is just a number. In a society where people are expected to start thinking of retirement at the age of forty and get a definite retirement by the age of sixty, BVCI starts the enrolment in teams from the age of forty. If you share a love of cricket the way we do, hop onto our nets, and start practising! After all, cricket is not a business but rather an emotion in our country. We have three age groups which will be our continued focus: 40+, 50+ and 60+ (golden squad).

Founding President

A prolific cricketer and politician, Late Shri Chetan Chauhan has served as Chairperson of the BVCI since its inceptions; Late Mr. Chetan Chauhan debuted for Team India in 1969 as a Right-handed batsman and Right arm off-spin bowler. In over forty test matches played for India, Chetan Chauhan used to open alongside Mr. Sunil Gavaskar regularly. He has also played for Delhi and Maharashtra in Ranji Trophy and was crucial in forming the Board of Control for Veterans Cricket in India.

Zones

BVCI Controls all India veterans’ cricket, played in its respective zones, NORTH, SOUTH, EAST, WEST and CENTRAL ZONE.

Each zone is independently run through state associations. Each zone is responsible for several states and managed for its operations and the coordination by a vice president, who also sits on its executive board. Each state association further works within the state and its districts.
